Fawkeners, A Stunning Rustic Drive in Frant

We were contacted by a long standing, Bali award winning client to see if we would be interested being involved in this amazing landscaping scheme.

Fawkners is part of the Ely Grange Estate in Frant near Tunbridge Wells. The house is characterized by Victorian-era architecture and was well-regarded enough to be published in a prominent 1881 architectural magazine. Today, the estate consists of substantial detached houses with extensive, mature gardens, with some parts having been repurposed or sold.

The brief was to renew the existing surface to sympathetically set off the house while still retaining the classic country style driveway without the issue of loose stones. So, the best product to install was Addagrip Terrabase Rustic!

One of the challenges we faced were the edge design, which although very intricate and took more time to install, we believe looked stunning once finished. Another was getting materials on site. As the piers to the estate were listed and very tight to fit a lorry through this way was not an option. Another way was sorted out which involved timed deliveries and carefull communication with the local community so not to block roads, driveways and to keep the small local roads free flowing.

Our client was very happy with the service, product and finish supplied by True Grip.

We laid 840m2 of Addagrip Terrabase 6-10mm Rustic Cove at 35mm thickness.
