Secret Garden in the Chilterns

True Grip were contacted by multi-BALI award winning garden designer Rob Jones and in-house designer Sophie Green of the Garden Design Company, to help with their scheme for resin pathways, to a fantastic Georgian-style house house, high up in the Chilterns. They transformed what used to be a run down area with a derelict tennis court, tarmac and scrubland beside the curving drive, to a beautiful secret garden.

For the pathways, The Garden Design Company excavated the areas, installed metal edging, laid an MOT type 3 granular sub-base and 30mm thick of 2mm-6mm limestone capping layer. The challenge was to integrate modern, and traditional products that complimented the house, stonework and planting. The choice to use resin bound gravel was obvious to the client and Rob as it gives the classic shingle finish, the firmness of a solid pathway without the problems that can occur when using shingle.

The design by Rob and Sophie was exceptional and the attention to detail by his team constructing the areas, was as always to a very high standard. Which made completing the area on time not a problem and the weather was on our side too.

The client was getting ready to host a family wedding at the house so completing on time and their ability to show the new secret garden was critical.
